1. Plan It Out

Knowing exactly what time each of your exams will be held is key so you aren’t frantically trying Check out mobap.edu/finals for the full schedule. From there, you can even plan out times you will study, eat, etc. to get the best out of your finals week.

2. Remove Distractions

Are you having trouble focusing? Turn off the TV, your phone and close your social media tabs. It may seem hard, but your friends will still be there, your likes will still gather and, most importantly, your grades will thank you for it. If you can’t seem to stay away from the screen, try studying in 25-minute intervals before taking a 5-minute break to check Facebook, text your BFF or get a pep talk from an awesome kid. Then back to the books.

3. Eat Well

Sure, that candy bar and venti Frappuccino may seem like the sugar and caffeine rush you need, but a balanced diet of proteins and healthy snacks like lean meats, eggs, Greek yogurt and nuts are great for those boosts of energy to stay on track instead of getting that dreaded sugar crash.

4. Hydrate!

Forgetting the eating healthy tip may be inevitable, so make sure you drink plenty of water to keep you balanced with all the sugar and caffeine you’re consuming. Keep a water bottle handy with you at all times.

5. Study On

Whether you listen to classical music, make flashcards or hang up the hammock, everyone has different studying methods that work for them. If you’re looking to find the most effective way to absorb those formulas, take a look at this video to get some helpful pointers. Study groups can be helpful, too, but aren’t always the best bet. Try to stay organized and quiz yourself.

6. Walk it Out

Physical activity can help boost memory, learning and alertness. Take a break and go to MBU’s fitness center for a quick workout to keep those brain waves flowing. See the SRC hours and fitness classes.

7. Catch Some Z’s

Studies show that pulling all-nighters can do more harm than good when it comes to retaining information. Aim for at least four to six hours the night before, wake up and go over your materials, grab some protein and seize that final exam.
