It is a new school year, Spartans! We want to share some helpful tips for navigating the new academic year at MBU. Here at MBU, we have a lot of helpful resources available that can help equip you for success.

1. Be Kind to Your Mind

It can be extremely difficult trying to balance school work, athletics, jobs, future planning and change during the transition to college. It is important to take care of your mind and your mental health during this season. MBU provides counseling services, free of charge, for MBU students who are enrolled in classes. Talking to someone and embracing community are great ways to take care of your mental health.

To utilize your free counseling service, email counselingservices@mobap.edu.

2. Get Your Body Moving!

Staying active is a great way to minimize stress and maintain a healthy lifestyle. MBU’s fitness center is open 7 days a week and is free for all MBU students. The fitness center is located on the bottom floor of the SRC building. This space houses updated workout equipment that is perfect for staying active this year. MBU also provides weekly group workout classes. This can be a good way to make new friends on campus.

3. Set Intentional Goals

Do you have a specific job you want to land after graduation? Do you want to learn more about jobs you can explore with your degree? We encourage you to utilize our career services office this year.

MBU’s career services office provides resources that can connect you with internships. The office also provides students with interviewing tips and resume help. Visit the career services office, located in the learning center, to learn more.

Tip 4: Find Your Community

It’s time to get involved on campus! Joining a club or getting a work-study job is a great way to find community outside of the classroom. Students can get involved on campus and find peers with mutual interests by joining a club or organization. See the list below for clubs we have on campus. Click here to learn more.

5. Spend Time With the Lord

Our biggest hope for the new year is that we maintain intentionality with God. Attending Chapel at MBU is a great way to connect with your peers and come together in worship. Needing a local church? College Park Church, pastored by Dr. Jordan Cox, meets on campus every Sunday. If you are needing a space off-campus, MBU’s student life office has resources to connect you with wonderful churches in the St. Louis area.
