On this national donut day we asked Taira Schertz, Assistant Dean of Student Engagement/Director of Residence Life and MBU’s Donut Connoisseur, to share her top ten list of donut shops around the area. 1. Old Town Donuts

Old Town Donuts is a family-owned Donut Shop located in Old Town Florissant. For more than 30 years, this shop has served the community with some of the best donuts in the area. They run three shifts a day, so the donuts are always the freshest they can be. Something unique about this shop is that they are open late.

2. Strange Donuts

This local donut spot creates fun and unique flavors each week. Strange Donuts has been named Best Donut in St. Louis for 6 years in a row. Make sure to try the maple bacon donut!

3. Donut Drive-In

Since 1953, Donut Drive-In has been serving up donuts of all varieties for every occasion. This traditional donut shop serves up classics that will leave you feeling nostalgic. This shop is open until midnight!

This independent joint is located downtown behind an unassuming storefront offering a range of old-school and inventive donuts.

Donut Palace is family owned and operated serving hand crafted, made fresh daily donuts and Kaldi’s coffee ground in house! This shop serves up 50+ donut varieties in the case every morning, with other custom options available upon request.

7. World’s Fair Donuts

For the past 87 years, this shop has been a staple to the St. Louis community. This small, mom-&-pop spot is a popular place for donuts, fritters and coffee. Remember to bring cash or setup your Venmo account — they do not take cards.

Duck Donuts offers a variety donuts, coffee and sandwiches. On June 4th, you can stop by for a free cinnamon sugar donut!

Family owned and operated since 1995, Tony’s Donuts and Cafe has more than 50 selections of donuts along with mouth-watering breakfast and lunch sandwiches. They have two locations in St. Louis and don’t disappoint when it comes to variety.
